Former Baker hoops star Jozie Ramos helps lead Oregon Tech to 12-3 start

Jozie Ramos, a 2023 Baker High School graduate, is a key cog in the Oregon Institute of Technology’s women’s basketball team.

The Owls are 12-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play.

Ramos, who led the Bulldogs to the Class 4A state title in March 2023 and was named Class 4A player of the year, was also a major contributor to the Oregon Tech team as a freshman in 2023-24.

Ramos, who scored more than 1,500 points during her four-year career at BHS, has started all 15 games as a sophomore at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, where she is studying nuclear medical technology.

She is third in scoring, at 10.5 points per game, and third in rebounding, with 4.9 per game.

Ramos is tied for the team lead with 12 blocked shots.

Ramos leads the Owls in field goal percentage, among players with at least 10 attempts, at 51.6%.

She scored a season-high 23 points, in just 21 minutes, in the Owls’ 89-63 win at Corban University in Salem on Dec. 21. Ramos made nine of 10 shots.
