HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Baker girls open Seaside tournament with 46-42 win over previously unbeaten The Dalles

The Baker girls basketball team traveled to Seaside on Thursday, Dec. 19, to open play in a three-day tournament against The Dalles. 

After trailing 15-6 after the first quarter to the 5-0 Riverhawks, who were ranked fifth in Class 4A, Baker rallied to get within 23-22 at halftime. Freshman Molly Rasmussen, who led all scorers with 20 points, scored 10 points in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs then took the lead in the second half, outscoring The Dalles 15-10 in the third quarter, and went on to win 46-42.

Five Baker players scored in the third quarter, led by Molly Rasmussen’s six points.

Baker improved to 4-3 on the season.

The Bulldogs will play Corbett on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. Corbett, a Class 3A school, is 3-2 on the season, including a 52-33 loss to The Dalles on Dec. 13.
