Jesse Brown wins final round at National Finals Rodeo

Baker City steer wrestler Jesse Brown finished first in the final round at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas Saturday night, Dec. 14, his second outright win in the 10-round event.

Brown won $33,687 with a time of 3.4 seconds, the fastest time by any bulldogger in the 10 rounds.
He was in fourth place in the world standings before the final round. He finished the year in sixth place with earnings of $258,000.
JD Struxness, who placed second in the 10th round with a 3.6-second run, finished first in yearly earnings with $309,000.

Brown also won the fifth round and tied for first in the seventh round. He qualified for the National Finals Rodeo for the fifth straight year.
