Jesse Brown back in the money for 9th round at National Finals Rodeo, moves up to 4th in world standings with one round left

Baker City steer wrestler Jesse Brown was back in the money during the ninth go-round at the National Finals Rodeo Friday night, Dec. 13, in Las Vegas.

Brown, who finished first in the fifth round and tied for first in the seventh round, was fifth on Friday and won $8,693.
That moved him back to fourth place in the world standings with season earnings of $224,865.
Dakota Eldridge leads the world standings with $287,798.

The final round of the National Finals is Saturday night, Dec. 14.
Brown, competing on rodeo’s biggest stage for the fifth straight year, had the fastest time, 3.6 seconds, in the fifth round to win $33,687. Brown tied for fifth in the third round to win $7,063.
Brown didn’t record a time during the eighth round on Thursday.
Brown was in sixth place in the world standings entering the National Finals Rodeo. He finished third in the world standings in 2023, and fifth in 2022.
