Jesse Brown ties for 5th, wins $7,063 on night 3 at National Finals Rodeo

Professional steer wrestler Jesse Brown, a Baker City native, tied for fifth in the third round of the National Finals Rodeo on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Las Vegas, winning $7,063.

Brown, competing in rodeo’s biggest event for the fifth straight year, brought down his steer in 4.6 seconds.

In the second round on Friday, Brown had a faster time — 4.2 seconds — but was just out of the money.

He entered the National Finals ranked sixth in earnings for the year. He is eighth in total time after three rounds.

The 10-day event continues through Dec. 14.
