Volleyball: vs. North Lake
First set
The Badgers never trailed and were in control from early in the set. Powder went on to win the set 25-13.
Second set
This was much more competitive, with multiple ties. The Badgers never had a long scoring run as they did in the first set.
But Powder maintained a slim lead for much of the set, until the Cowgirls scored four straight points to lead 20-19 and prompt Powder coach Marji Lind to call timeout. After the timeout, Sky Nesser had a kill to tie it at 20, and then another kill, both on assists from Marli Lind, to regain the lead for the Badgers at 21-20. Nesser made it three straight kills, the third on a North Lake overpass, Powder led 22-20 and North Lake called timeout.
But the interruption didn’t affect Nesser, as she had yet another kill to make it 23-20. For variety, Nesser had a block to give the Badgers set point. Then she capped the set with another kill to give Powder the 25-20 win.
Third set
Powder continued to put consistent pressure on North Lake, never allowing the Cowgirls to have long scoring streaks.
Powder led 15-10, but North Lake rallied to get as close as 18-16. Nesser had a back row kill to make it 20-16. Marli Lind ended the match with ace serve and the Badgers won 25-18.
Volleyball: vs. Imbler
The first two sets were nailbiters. Powder Valley had two set points but couldn’t finish off the Panthers, who won the set 29-27. Imbler won the second set 25-23, and dominated the third, 25-12.
The Badgers finished the season with a 26-9 record.
