BAKER, PINE EAGLE CROSS-COUNTRY: Bulldog girls place 7th at state meet; Daniel Brown, Jack Joseph compete in boys race

- Jack Joseph finished fifth at the district meet, and will join Daniel Brown to compete as individuals at the state cross-country meet.
EUGENE — The Baker girls cross-country team placed seventh at the Class 4A state meet Saturday, Nov. 9, at Lane Community College.

Two Pine Eagle runners, Gabe Brown and Lindsey Brown, also competed, Gabe in the competed Class 1A/2A boys meet, and Lindsey in the 3A/2A/1A girls meet.
Gwen Rasmussen was Baker’s top girls finisher, placing 25th with a time of 20:35.1
Sofie Kaaen, Baker’s lone senior, was 31st at 20:53.5.

Baker coach Suzy Cole said Rasmussen, Gressley, Heriza, Timm, Gracy and Andersch all set personal records. Kaaen ran her fastest time of the season.
Brown placed 21st with a time of 17:14.5.
Joseph, a junior, was 61st in 18:25.9, a personal best.
La Grande’s Brooke Perry won the girls race in a time of 18:36.5.
Carter Bengston of Cottage Grove was the boys individual champion with a time of 15:41.2

Gabe Brown, a senior, placed 15th with a time of 17.35.8.
Lindsey Brown, a freshman, was 7th with a time of 18:57.3.
