Sr. Margaret Mary Whelan: 94, formerly of Baker City, died Oct. 14, 2024, in Assisi House in Aston, Pennsylvania. She was a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 74 years. She served for 21 years in the Baker diocese. She worked as a nurse and nursing supervisor at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Baker and at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. All services will be held in Assisi House on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, and will be livestreamed. A Christian wake service will be at 6:30 a.m. PDT, with Mass of Christian Burial at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston.
