POWDER VALLEY GIRLS BASKETBALL: Badgers fall to North Douglas, will play St. Paul for third place

The Powder Valley girls basketball team, winners of 14 straight games, led for most of the game, but North Douglas dominated the fourth quarter to claim a 60-44 win in a semifinal game at the Class 1A state tournament Friday night at Baker High School.

The Warriors outscored Powder Valley 20-2 in the final period.
After trailing 16-14 after one quarter, Powder Valley took the lead in the second quarter and continued to lead until the early part of the fourth quarter. The Badgers led 32-26 at halftime, and 42-40 after three quarters.
North Douglas took control with a 16-0 run to start the fourth quarter. North Douglas’ Brooke McHaffie led all scorers with 19 points. Brooklyn Cyr added 15 points.

Jodi Bingham led Powder Valley with 15 points. Kellee Dixon had 8 points and a game-high 18 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end.
