James Kenneth Grant, 74, died Oct. 9, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Portland due to complications following lung cancer.

A graveside service with military funeral honors will take place Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Valley Cemetery at Richland. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to be held immediately following the service at the Eagle Valley Grange, corner of Moody Road and Main Street in Richland.

Jim was born on Feb. 20, 1944, at Astoria to Kenny and Mary Grant. He attended Eastern Oregon College and served in the Armed Forces. He worked for the Forest Service leading youth groups on projects and trainings. Jim enjoyed his time as a packer and hunting guide in Oregon and Montana. He then worked for Job Corps in Washington and Idaho for many years.

Jim is survived by his daughters and their families, Katie Greathouse and Erin Morrison; his brothers and their families, Bob Grant and Joseph Grant; and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Pirone, and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mike Grant.
