J. Scott Mohr, 47, died March 7, 2014, at Forest Grove.

There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at The Reserve Golf Course in Hillsboro. Pastor John Cockram will officiate.

Scott was born on Oct. 23, 1966, at Gold Beach to Phillip Daniel Mohr and Judith Marie Anderson Bentsen. He was raised at Toledo, Ore., and was a 1985 Toledo High School graduate. He attended Mount Hood Community College at Gresham and Western Oregon State College at Monmouth where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business.

He married Jeanne Marie Cockram on Feb. 9, 1991, at Baker City. They celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary this past February. They raised their two girls and made their home in the communities of Eugene, Beaverton and Vernonia, until 2008, when they moved to Guangzhou, China.

Scott had worked for Nike for 24 years. He worked his way through many divisions of the company, most recently as manufacturing engineering operations director of footwear.

In addition to traveling with his family, he enjoyed classic cars, music and sports.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith M. Bentsen; and Jeanne’s parents, Fred and Annette Cockram.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne, and daughters, Kayla and Alexa of Guangzhou, China; his father and stepmother, Phillip and Beverly of Albany; stepfather, Roger Bentsen of Vernonia; grandmother, Cleone Wise of Crooked River Ranch; sisters, Natalie Mohr, and her son, Daylen, of Wilsonville, Deborah and Johnny Delfs and children, Zenzi and Jorn of Forest Grove, and Rachael Bentsen of Hillsboro; and his in-laws of Baker City, Michelle and Collin Kaseberg, Cherie and Craig Ward, Daryl and Monette Cockram and their families.
