A Baker City woman who was arrested on Feb. 26 after entering an unlocked home, and arrested on March 3 on charges that she stole a car in Baker City and tried to elude police, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, April 22, for allegedly using a slingshot to shoot rocks at two men.

Angela Marie Aldrich, 45, was arrested about 3:10 p.m. in the 2400 block of Valley Avenue.

She is charged with fourth-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and harassment, a Class B misdemeanor, according to court records.

Aldrich was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Baker County Circuit Court.

According to a probable cause affidavit written by Baker City Police officer Lance Woodward, he responded to a report of a “physical dispute” between Aldrich and George (Steve) Palmer. Woodward wrote that officer Jonathan Parsons and Sgt. Mike Regan also went to the site.

Woodward wrote that Palmer told him Aldrich had fired rocks from a slingshot at him and a friend. Palmer told Woodward that one rock “grazed him, but it didn’t leave any marks or injuries on him.”

Woodward wrote that Palmer also told him that Aldrich had thrown rocks, about the size of tennis balls, at his trailer.

Woodward wrote that when he interviewed Aldrich, she was carrying a slingshot.

Aldrich said “in substance that she had fired a rock from her slingshot at (Palmer’s) trailer. She claimed she did not hit (Palmer).”

Earlier charges

Aldrich was arrested Feb. 26 on charges of first- and second-degree criminal trespassing.

She was given a conditional release from the Baker County Jail on those charges.

She was arrested on March 3 after leading police on a pursuit through Baker Valley that extended for more than 20 miles. Aldrich was driving a 2021 Toyota 4Runner that had been reported that evening from downtown Baker City.

A grand jury indicted Aldrich March 6 on four charges, all Class C felonies: unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, first-degree criminal mischief and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

Aldrich was released from the Baker County Jail on March 24 after posting $4,500, 10% of her $45,000 bail.

She is scheduled to enter a plea to the charges from the April 22, March 3 and Feb. 26 arrests on May 5 at 10:30 a.m. in Baker County Circuit Court.
