Eastbound lanes of I-84 reopen after morning closure due to spun out trucks in Ladd Canyon

Multiple commercial trucks spun out on snow-covered Interstate 84 at the base of Ladd Canyon Monday morning, Dec. 16, prompting the Oregon Department of Transportation to close the eastbound freeway lanes between Baker City and La Grande for about three hours.
The eastbound freeway reopened around 8:30 a.m.
Heavy snow was falling along the I-84 corridor, including in Baker County.
The trucks spun out at the start of the 6% grade through Ladd Canyon, several miles south of La Grande.
