Received in today’s mail (9/11/2024) a renewal notice from Metro West Baker Ambulance Service for Ground Ambulance Membership, starting September 30, 2024, thru September 30, 2025, for a mailed payment of $59.99 to Metro West Baker Ambulance/Membership Processing Center, POB 584, Wooburn, OR 97071.
Enrollment instructions stipulate that members need to ensure they reside in the Baker Ambulance Service Area, and membership is non-refundable. No membership ID card is provided to the recipient upon enrolling with payment as directed. No receipt of payment is provided by the company. You cannot enroll online as company IT cannot clear the problem for online processing.
There is no local payment locale provided for the local area.
With the difficulty of the USPS deliveries, if you do not have a mail tracking number on your return payment, and it becomes lost, the USPS cannot or will nottrack or recover your payment.
There is absolute no mention of local name of ambulance service or contact personnel locally to the Baker City subscribers. Yet when you locally see a flashing ambulance, the name reflects a “Pioneer Ambulance” title.
There is no local street address or facility labeling for public awareness on either of the vehicle, or facility storage location.
Why is that?
Just another thought, perhaps the city council and the new city manager working well together can resolve the unanswered quality of medical transport service we, the taxpayers of Baker City, actually truly have provided to the local area by whom, other than a name title on the other side of the state of Oregon.
