My husband and I own and manage a commercial development on 10th Street in Baker City. We also help and support some of our mature aged family and friends and we are all in agreement that there just simply is not enough money to buy food, pay utilities, and purchased the basic needs to survive in this economy. The public safety fee and the franchise fee the city council is voting in, is more than enough to sustain our police and fire and services they provide. The safety fee will be additional cost to all of us, but every household will contribute to this and not just place the burden on property owners. You will only get to vote on the tax levy and it will greatly make it difficult for all of us to make ends meet if it passes. Please vote no!
