All I know about Mike Meyer is from his periodic letters in Your Views. We have never been friends. I’m not opposed, as he is, to having friends of different political persuasions, it’s just that I’ve never met Mr. Meyer.

Therefore, in saying that I plan to vote for Donald Trump on Nov. 5, I’m not at risk of him unfriending me.

In response to his basic question of why/how anyone could vote for Trump, the answer is very simple: it has been determined that the presidential election will be a choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and I won’t vote for Biden, the worst president in the last century. Biden’s performance has been so bad that he’s taken the worst president title away from Jimmy Carter.

I’m not a fan of Donald Trump as a person. He is egotistical, narcissistic, and extremely rude. But I like the results from his first term and am going with his record. My only two complaints about his first term are that the national debt increased every year of his presidency, and he insulted John McCain, a former senator and naval officer who was imprisoned for over five years in North Vietnam.

Other than those two things, his record is outstanding. Pick any topic and he did well: economy, securing the southern border, correctly focusing the EPA, getting out of climate accords and the Iran nuclear deal, supporting Israel by moving the embassy to Jerusalem, supporting the military, and the list goes on. Joe Biden, in his first few days, issued some 40 executive orders in his attempt to undo the Trump positives.

I will address at least some of Mr. Meyer’s points and others.

Sexual assault? Trump’s accuser couldn’t even remember in what year the supposed attack happened.

She talked about how much she enjoyed going back to that very store through the years, so she didn’t seem to have any bad memories associated with the location. All she really seemed to care about was the amount of money she was going to get so she could take all her friends shopping.

I think she lied, and the real attack was her attacking Trump.

Fraud? The bank he supposedly defrauded was on his side during the trial. There was no victim (except for Trump) and the bank expressed their pleasure that they had his business as a client.

Stolen election? All his claims were dismissed but there were no serious investigations.

Russia collusion? Now proven to be false. And Trump claimed that the federal government (Obama administration) was spying on his campaign, and we now know that was true.

Taking classified documents? But Joe Biden did exactly the same thing (except his weren’t as secure) but he won’t be charged because he is too senile to stand trial. If he is too mentally incompetent to stand trial, how can he be mentally competent enough to be president?

Trump inspired the January 6 insurrection? Watch the film clip. It is perfectly clear that he asked the crowd to go “. … peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol.

That Trump will be a dictator and create a bloodbath? Donald Trump speaks in hyperbole and the left loves to take him out of context. He was joking about being a dictator for his first day (and that’s what Biden did with his executive orders) and the bloodbath comment was about the economy.

It is quite clear that Donald Trump is under attack because the left is afraid he will become president again and all these “legal” charges are based on that. If Trump had gone to Mar-a-Lago on Jan. 20, 2021, and never said or done anything, he would have been left alone. Donald Trump’s legal challenges are all about politics.
