Baker County Chamber of Commerce director leaving job Feb. 16

Devon Colton, executive director of the Baker County Chamber of Commerce since December 2022, announced her pending resignation Thursday, Feb. 8.

The text of her letter:

“I am writing to inform you of my resignation from my role as Executive Director of Baker County Unlimited (BCU) dba, Baker County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Bureau, effective February 16, 2024.

“This decision comes after careful consideration of my professional commitments and personal priorities. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that I have had the past 14 months with BCU.

“I would like to extend my appreciation to each of you for the support and collaboration we’ve been able to share. To those who may find this news disappointing, I offer my apologies for any sense of letdown. To those who have supported me during my time here, I express my deepest appreciation; your encouragement has truly been invaluable.”

In a press release, the BCU board acknowledged Colton’s dedication and expressed appreciation for her “significant contributions to the organization.”

The board will start a search for a new executive director.
