Christmas light displays in Baker City

Baker City Herald readers responding to a Facebook post have recommended several Christmas light displays. The list includes: • 1000 Westview Drive • 2528 Valley Ave. • 1000 Lund Lane • 630 L Loop • 675 L Loop • 915 D St. • 1170 Columbia Ave. • 2323 Failing Ave. Baker City’s best-known display, started by Sam and Nora Bass more than 30 years ago, moved in 2018 to Bill and Shandra Lee’s home at 3645 Birch St. After Sam died in August 2017, his wife, Nora, carried on the tradition that Christmas at the couple’s home on 19th Street. The next year she transferred the dozens of handmade decorations and thousands of lights to the Lees, who continue to set up the display at their home.
