As we mark the anniversary of the election that brought significant changes to Baker City’s city council, I find myself reflecting on the transformative year that has transpired. While none of the individuals elected to office a year ago continue to serve on the council, the experience has reinforced the resilience of our democratic process.
Baker City now stands united behind a nonpartisan city council comprised of experienced and knowledgeable individuals. This collective leadership provides a foundation upon which we can build a stronger and more cohesive community. Despite the challenges faced, the outcome reaffirms the effectiveness of our democratic principles.
As we move forward, it is evident that there is much work to be done to ensure the financial and social sustainability of Baker City. With our new leadership in place, let us refocus our efforts and energy on the essential tasks that lie ahead.
Wishing Baker City a joyous holiday season and looking forward to a sustainable future!
