Dear community members:

We are writing this letter to pay respects and homage to our dear friend Kevin McNamara who departed this world Aug 15, 2023.

As many of you know, Kevin worked for years at Betty’s Books and knew many community members. Before the bookstore, he worked at Tony’s Tree Service and as a contract forester with the USFS. He also had a ranch out at Medical Springs, a place he called home in the best and biggest sense of the word. He was known to many as a delightful friend and witty soul, always one to have a great story and/or a good laugh. He was a cowboy in his heart and a great poet on paper, a lover of green chili and the New York Times crossword puzzle, esp. the Saturday edition, in ink. He always said the right thing at the right time, making friends and strangers feel seen and appreciated.

We will miss him dearly and he’ll always be in our hearts.
