I’m writing this letter in reference to Matt Diaz in hopes of understanding a post he put on his public social media account. His post was an image of a pinwheeled pride flag with a swastika in the middle.

I am deeply saddened and offended about his attack on the LGBTQ and Jewish members of our community. This was very divisive and unbecoming of a Council member “Mayor.” If there is a different meaning than what I’m understanding I would love to hear his explanation.

As a Council member “Mayor” he should represent all Baker City citizens. If this is something he can’t bring yourself to do then I believe he should resign. He is doing our city a great disservice.
