But there are some deals to be had, as some companies are willing to offer discounts in order to stay competitive.

Earlier this year, Frontier Airlines  (ULCC) – Get Free Report  introduced a discounted, all-you-can-fly summer pass. Until September 30, you can use it for reservations without being subject to booking window restrictions. It’s available for both domestic and international flights, and costs $699, and you purchase it directly through the airline. 

But now, Frontier has dropped that price $499 to book unlimited domestic and international flights, through September 30. Again, like before, you have to finalize the purchase by the end of May.

You can also purchase a GoWild! annual pass, which is valid for travel through next year, is still available for $1,999. No discount on that one just yet.

The discount pass is valid for all of Fontier’s 75 U.S. and international destinations.
