So, Kerry McQuisten is resigning before her term as councilor ends. She can check “Mayor” off her to-do list. It will show as quite an accomplishment on her political resume, as long as no one notices her term had more problems than solutions, more controversy than community service.

Governing as a councilor probably doesn’t satisfy her unbounded ambition, if her run for governor is any indication of how she views political stepping stones. So we’ll see her name on other ballots at other times. Just remember, she pulled a Sarah Palin on us, ducking out early. Maybe she’s planning a run for president, since the Republican qualifications are so low.
