- Rebecca Pierce has opened a bookkeeping business in Baker City.
Professional bookkeeper Rebecca Pierce recently opened a home-based bookkeeping business, Count on Me LLC, at 3314 Birch St. in Baker City and is taking new clients.
Pierce can be reached at 541-519-7525 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and after hours by appointment only. Her email is rebecca.countonme@gmail.com.
“I registered my business name with the state of Oregon in 2021, but I just actually opened for business on March 24, 2025,” Pierce said.
She is setting up her bookkeeping office in an outbuilding on her residential property that she owns with her husband, Eric Pierce. She hopes to have the office remodeling finished by the end of April.
Pierce is a 2004 graduate of Baker High School and a 2010 graduate of Eastern Oregon University with a bachelor of science in business administration.
“Since then, I’ve been in the bookkeeping industry for almost 20 years,” she said.
She began her career working for the Napa auto parts store in Baker City and Miller’s Lumber in Baker City for five years until 2012. She then worked for about six years, until 2019, as a business analyst/controller for Beef Northwest Feeders and Northwest Beef Express, subsidiaries of Wilson Cattle Company of North Powder.
“My base office was at the Wilson Cattle Ranch,” Pierce said. “I did a lot of traveling for them, and I was the controller for the trucking side of the company.”
She continued her career in July 2019 with Guyer and Associates, a CPA firm in Baker City, for the next three years. She was hired as professional staff, handling bookkeeping, the front desk, and at one point, overseeing payroll for about 80 clients.
In November 2022, she started with SPRCHRGR, an online-based accounting and finance company based in California, and she finished as a senior accountant with that company in March 2025. She performed bookkeeping, high-level accounting, financial analysis, and took care of multi-entity clients.
“It’s been a goal of mine for 10-plus years to go out on my own and do this for myself,” Pierce said.
Her goal was kicked into high gear when family health issues arose. The Pierces’ four-year-old daughter, Timber, contracted influenza A last February and was in the hospital for a week. Their child also has Down Syndrome and is scheduled in November for surgery to treat a heart defect. Pierce realized that she needs job flexibility that allows her to be home to care for Timber and get her to all the doctor appointments.
“Right now would be a good time to get my feet under me with my business, so when my daughter’s surgery happens, I’ll be prepared for that time,” she said.
Pierce offers a full range of bookkeeping services, including month-end reconciliations and closes (review of all accounts), payroll, clean-ups, and financial reports (profit and loss, balance sheets, cashflow statements). In her business, she primarily uses QuickBooks Online.
“I can get everything ready to go to the CPA, and the client can take that into them for tax preparation,” Pierce said.
With new clients, Pierce will invoice monthly at a rate of $75 per hour. After three to six months as a continuing client, Pierce will establish a flat monthly fee for the client.
Pierce welcomes new clients, and she offers a free 1-hour consultation for anybody who may be interested in her professional bookkeeping services.
