VALE — The Baker/Powder Valley/Pine Eagle softball team’s three-game winning streak ended with a 10-1 loss in a nonleague game at Vale on Wednesday, April 30.

And the Vikings’ pitcher, Grace Chamberlain, was largely responsible.

Chamberlain allowed just two hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Paityn Barr and Oakley Anderson had Baker’s two hits. Anderson’s was a double. She also scored Baker’s only run, on an error on Jaxyn Ramos’ pop up in the sixth inning.

The Bulldogs return to the Baker Sports Complex to host unbeaten La Grande, the top-ranked Class 4A team, for a Greater Oregon League doubleheader Friday, May 2, starting at 2 p.m.
