With Palmer Chandler winning medalist honors and teammate Jaxon Logsdon placing second, the Baker boys golf team easily won its home invitational on Monday, April 28, at Quail Ridge Golf Course.

Chandler shot a 4-over par round of 74. Logsdon was two shots back at 76. Baker’s Eli Long was fifth with a round of 80, Grant Gambleton was sixth at 81, and Jace Whitford was 10th with a round of 86.

“It was a really great day for Palmer,” Baker coach Mike Long said. “He really showed what he can do.”

Baker’s team score (top four players) was 311, 28 shots better than runner-up Pendleton/Griswold. Mac-Hi was third at 351, Burns/Crane 4th at 358; Trinity Lutheran, 5th, 366; and La Grande, 6th, 367.

Long said Baker’s 311 total is a good score, and one that would put the Bulldogs in contention for their second Class 4A state championship. Baker won the title in 2023 and was second, four shots behind Marist Catholic, in 2024.
