BAKER BOYS GOLF: Eli Long wins medalist honors, Bulldogs third in team standings at La Grande tournament

LA GRANDE — Baker’s Eli Long won medialist honors with an even-par round of 72, and the Baker boys golf team placed third in the La Grande Tiger Open tournament Friday, April 25, at the La Grande Country Club.

Long was two shots ahead of Coltin Miller of Burns.

Baker’s Jace Whitford was fifth with a round of 81.

Burns/Crane won the team title with 340 strokes (top four seeded players). Pendleton/Griswold was second with 343, and Baker was third with 345.

Other teams competing were Echo/Stanfield; La Grande, Heppner/Ione, Union/Cove/Imbler and Prairie City.

Other Baker players whose scores were part of the team’s official total were Palmer Chandler, eighth with a round of 87, and Ambrose Rexroad, 30th with a 105.
