BAKER GOLF: Boys 1st, girls 2nd at tournament

POWELL BUTTE — The Baker boys golf team finished first, and the girls second, at the Trinity Lutheran Invitational April 17 at Brasada Canyons.
The tournament was nine holes rather than the usual 18.
In the boys event, Baker’s Eli Long was second in the individual results with a 37, and Jake Holden third with 39. Other Baker finishers were Palmer Chandler, 7th at 41, and Grant Gambleton and Jace Whitford, who tied for 21st with scores of 48.
Baker finished two shots ahead of Crook County.
In the girls tournament, Baker’s Lilly Wilson was seventh overall with a round of 50. Ashlyn Dalton and Brooklyn Rayl tied for ninth with rounds of 51, and Jocelyn Bork was 15th with a 53.
The Baker girls host a tournament Monday, April 21, at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Baker City. Play starts at noon.
The girls travel to La Grande for a tournament on Tuesday, April 22, at the La Grande Country Club.
The Baker boys play at La Grande on Friday, April 25, and then host the Baker Invitational at Quail Ridge on April 28.
