LA GRANDE — The Baker tennis team won eight of nine girls matches, and five of six boys matches in a league match at La Grande on Tuesday, April 1.

“It was a great early season match,” Baker coach Amy Younger said. “The weather finally cooperated, and the kids were able to play tennis without battling the wind, too.”

The Bulldogs won all three singles matches for boys. In doubles, the number one team of brothers Weston and Jacob Burton dropped their match to Blake Hildebrandt and Jeremiah Jones, and the other two doubles teams came away with wins.

Baker returned their top two girls doubles teams from last season, and both won their matches.

The Bulldogs open their home season against Pendleton on Thursday, April 3, starting at 3 p.m. at the Ash Grove Courts just east of the entrance to the Baker Sports Complex off Fifth Street.
