Two people were killed in separate single-vehicle crashes last week in Northeastern Oregon.

Jonathan Roger Schmeck, 25, of Burns, died when the Honda Accord he was driving went off Highway 7 near Mason Dam, rolled several times and hit a tree. When Oregon State Police were notified of the crash at 7:16 a.m. on March 24, the crash had not happened recently so the time of the accident isn’t known, according to OSP. Schmeck was driving east toward Baker City.

Schmeck was not wearing a seatbelt.

A day earlier, on March 23, Corbin Ronald Knowles, 49, of Kuna, Idaho, died when the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck he was driving went off the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near Milepost 277, at the southern base of Ladd Canyon, rolled several times and landed on its roof.
