Two candidates have filed for a position on the Baker 5J School Board that will be on the ballot for the May 20 primary election.
Susan Yen and Sadie Lindell are running for position 4, a four-year term that starts July 1, 2025.
The incumbent, Travis Cook, did not file for reelection.
Cook, who owns Copper Belt Winery, said he needs to focus on his business and other projects along with his family.
“The school board is great, I loved doing it and serving,” Cook said March 17. “It just takes a lot of dedicated time and I don’t feel I have enough to give to it any more to be effective.”
Position 3 is also on the May primary ballot. The incumbent, Jessica Dougherty, has filed for another four-year term and is running unopposed.
