Baker Middle School wrestlers will compete in the regional tournament March 7-8 in Boardman, hoping to qualify for the state tournament March 14-15 in Albany.

The team is “young but very promising,” coach Andrew Gettle said.

“Many of our wrestlers competed in club wrestling throughout the year with many successes,” Gettle said. “We are looking forward to testing the hard work the athletes have put it.”

The regional girls tournament will be Friday, March 7. Baker girls wrestlers are Amelia Walden and Austin Hilton.

The boys tournament will be Saturday, March 8.

Team members are Ryker Albert, Bruin Bloomer, Cooper Bain, Jude Crader, Wyatt Hansen, Dawson Hewett, Coby Johnson, Braylen Mayo, Romyn Myer, Mason Shank and Thomas Lynch.
