OTEC board candidates have until March 7 to file petitions

Nominating committees for Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative have nominated candidates for positions on the cooperative’s board of directors.

Other people wanting to file as candidates can do so by submitting a petition, with signatures from at least 50 OTEC members qualified by vote, by March 7.

Petitions are available by calling OTEC headquarters at 541-523-3616. The office is at 4005 23rd St. in Baker City.

Nominations from committees include:

• Baker County: Charlene Chase, incumbent. Baker County nominating committee members are Diana Brown, DeeDee Clarke and Fred Warner Jr.

• Union County, director position 7: Cory Miller, incumbent.

• Union County, director position 8: David Baum, incumbent. Union County nominating committee members are Donna Beverage, Brock Eckstein and Mary West.

Election ballots will be mailed to OTEC members in early April. Results of the election will be announced at OTEC’s annual meeting May 8 in Baker City.
