Driver cited for going 106 mph on freeway near Baker City

A 94-year-old Texas woman was cited on Friday, Jan. 24, for allegedly driving at 106 mph on Interstate 84 near Baker City, for failing to secure a child passenger in the vehicle and for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Elizabeth Perez, of El Paso, Texas, was cited at 5:03 p.m. in the westbound lanes at Milepost 296, about eight miles north of Baker City.
According to the citation issued by Oregon State Police Trooper Tristan Sand, his laser detector clocked the 2013 Dodge four-door Perez was driving at 106 mph.
The presumptive fine for the violation is $1,150.
The fine for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle is $265, and for failiing to secure a child passenger the fine is $115. Sand also cited Perez for driving without insurance, a $265 fine.
