After a period of mostly dry and mild weather that dominated the first half of December, a series of storms starting the week before Christmas and continuing past the holiday has pushed the mountain snowpack to record levels in some parts of Northeastern Oregon. The southern Wallowa Mountains, and parts of the Elkhorns, have fared especially well.

An 18-year-old Baker City man is charged with multiple felonies after the car he was driving, with six passengers, crashed into a tree early on Dec. 23. Two of the passengers were seriously injured.
