Members of Baker County Search and Rescue helped a man whose pickup truck got stuck in snow near Greenhorn.
Larry Pierce, 74, was hauling a 4-wheeler trailer with his 2005 Ford pickup from Granite to Greenhorn, said Ashley McClay, public information officer for the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle became mired a few miles east of Greenhorn.
Volunteers from the Granite Fire Department tried to help but they couldn’t get to the scene due to snow, which was estimated at 2 feet deep, McClay said.
Pierce, who had food, ran the truck’s engine at times to keep the cab warm.
The search and rescue team drove two side-by-sides to the site Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 13, where they found Pierce is good condition, McClay said.
SAR members drove Pierce to a relative’s home in Baker City.
