Less than a month after the Baker City Police Department resumed 24-hour patrols (there had not been patrols between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. daily since Dec. 1, 2023), the Baker City Council endorsed Police Chief Ty Duby’s plan to try to boost the number of sworn officers from 15 to 17.
