- Oregon State Police wildlife troopers are asking the public's help in identifying a man shown in this trail cam photo, who is suspected of killing a bull elk in Northeastern Oregon during Labor Day weekend and failing to keep any of the meat.
The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division has identified a suspect in a poaching case in Northeastern Oregon over the Labor Day weekend and is no longer seeking tips from the public.
The suspect shot a mature bull elk with an arrow and started butchering the animal. But when an OSP trooper arrived, the person left without taking any part of the elk.
Troopers salvaged as much of the meat as possible.
Potential charges against the suspect include failing to retrieve edible portions of wildlife and waste of wildlife.
