Baker County GOP women plan banquet April 20

Julie Harris, president of the National Federal of Republican Women, will be the keynote speaker at the Baker County Republican Women’s annual banquet April 20 in Baker City.
The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Baker Elks Lodge, 1896 Second St.
Tickets are $55 per person and available at www.bcrw.org. Ticket purchase deadline is April 15.
The event is a fundraiser for a summer camp for kids focusing on U.S. history, and is in conjunction with the Oregon Federation of Republican Women’s spring meeting at the Geiser Grand Hotel. This is the first time the organization has had its spring meeting in Eastern Oregon.
Congressman Cliff Bentz will be the guest speaker. Also scheduled to attend are Gerry Briggs, president of the Oregon Federation of Republican Women, and Christine Morgan, the organization’s immediate past president; Solomon Yue, Oregon’s Republican National Committeeman; Baker County’s representatives in the Oregon Legislature, Sen. Lynn Findley and Rep. Mark Owens; Republican candidates Will Lathrop (Oregon attorney general) and Mike McLane (Oregon Senate District 30).
There will be a live and silent auction as well as door prizes.
The dinner menu is a choice of tri-tip beef or chicken.
