The Baker School District is searching for a successor to chief financial officer Regina Sampson, who announced that she is leaving the job at the end of the school year in June.

The district hired Sampson in April 2022.

She will continue to oversee work on the budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year, which starts July 1, 2024.

The district’s business office received an award from the Association of School Business Officials International for the work, led by Sampson, for the current fiscal year budget.

“Baker School District has benefitted greatly from Ms. Sampson’s expertise and leadership of the Business Office,” acting superintendent Betty Palmer said in a press release. “We’re grateful that we get to keep her through the end of this school year and wish her well in all her future endeavors.”

Those interested in applying to be the next Chief Financial Officer of Baker School District can find more information on the Business Office and Annual Budget pages of the district website, www.bakersd.org, and apply at: https://www.applitrack.com/Baker5J/onlineapp/.

The district’s proposed budget for 2024-24 will be published on April 30, and budget committee meetings will start May 7. The public hearing for the school board’s adoption of the budget is set for June 18.
