- Prospective jurors summoned to the Baker County Courthouse have a new online portal where they can fill out forms.
The Baker County Circuit Court has changed the format for the jury duty summons it mails to prospective jurors.
The postcards have instructions for accessing juror information online, and will replace the former paper brochures, said Amy Swiger, trial court administrator.
The postcards direct jurors to a new online portal, Juror eResponse, where they can fill out forms, sign up to receive text or email notifications, obtain an attendance slip for jury service, and request deferrals or excusals.
Prospective jurors who don’t have internet access can fill out a questionnaire when they report for service.
“The new approach provides more flexibility to update information online, gives potential jurors more options for contact, and saves on printing and postage,” Swiger said. “The Juror eResponse portal is part of the Oregon Judicial Department’s efforts to use technology to improve and expand court communication, accessibility and engagement in innovative ways.”
