Letter to the editor for Sept. 14, 2023

I read, with bewilderment, the resignation letters of four of the councilors on Baker City Council. When you run for office, you accept the responsibility of representing the people who elected you till the end of your term. You should be well aware that the job requires “thick skin” as many people will not agree with some of your actions. Resigning from the job before your term expires, because of the pressure of the job, doesn’t help your community. When you were on the Council, you had a vote. Now you don’t. You can’t demand anything. The next regular election is when you can be like everyone else and vote.
