I would like to commend our small community fire departments that were dispatched to Sumpter for the Elkhorn bar fire. They were there quickly and protected the neighboring properties while containing the fire. The Sumpter City volunteer fire department are mostly elders but you wouldn’t know it. They dove in and called in city resources to get the volume of water needed for the equipment. The city workers acted quickly as well. The incoming other local fire departments arrived and went to work with all five departments working as one team. All organized and working hard protecting our city and residents. They all are amazing people loving the community they live in. We thank them with all our hearts!
