Monday, Aug. 7, 8:36 a.m. on Interstate 84, Milepost 305 eastbound; a Nissan Altima driven by Cyrus Dean LaFontaine, 19, of Marysville, Washington, veered off the freeway on the right, missing signs and the guardrail and continuing down the steep hillside above Highway 30. The car landed on its top. All three occupants were hurt and taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City. There were two passengers: Natalie Jasmine Sanchez LaFontaine, 22, of Mukilteo, Washington, and a 6-year-old. Cyrus LaFontaine was in stable condition at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 8. Natalie was treated and released.
