Baker City’s rejuvenated motorcycle rally returns this weekend with hundreds of riders expected to gather here to show their machines and to enjoy nearby highways and byways.

The Baker City Motorcycle Rally was formerly the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally. It’s one of the major summer events in town.

The previous sponsor, High Desert Harley-Davidson of

Meridian, Idaho, canceled the rally in 2020, 2021 and 2022 due to the pandemic.

The staff at Shameless Tees on Main Street in downtown Baker City stepped in to put on the 2022 event, and they expect this weekend’s event to draw riders from across the region and country.

Organizers said there will be vendors on Main Street and Court and Valley avenue.

Main Street will be closed from the south side of Washington Avenue to the north side of Auburn Avenue (both Washington and Auburn will remain open to traffic), Court Avenue will be closed between Main and First, and Valley will be closed from Resort to Second. The closures will be in effect from 3 p.m. Thursday to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Riders can find registration packets, poker run schedule and other information online at thebcmr.com.
