Baker City councilor and (arguably) the current mayor Matt Diaz needs to resign or be removed from office after abhorrent, inexcusable use of Nazi swastika imagery targeting the LGBTQ community. He spread this hate speech via his personal Facebook page. Then in a public statement he redacted the intention behind his post, but ended up essentially defending his position and explaining how he was justified in using Nazi imagery against members of the community he purported to represent as a city employee. Matt Diaz has proven himself to be unfit for any leadership role and needs to resign or be removed from office. Our Baker City community deserves better than to be terrorized by someone who clearly is openly homophobic and aligns himself with certain aspects of Nazi ideology. We need Matt Diaz removed from office immediately. He is a threat to the safety of our community.
