Police didn’t find anything suspicious after a bomb threat was phoned into the pharmacy at the Baker City Safeway store, 1205 Campbell St., on Thursday evening, June 9, leading to that store and the Rite Aid, which is in the same building, being evacuated.

An employee at Safeway called the Baker County Dispatch Center to report the threat at 5:27 p.m., said Sgt. Michael Regan of the Baker City Police Department.

Officers from Baker City Police, along with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police, went to the store. A search turned up no bomb or any suspicious items, Baker City Police Chief Ty Duby said on Thursday evening.

The scene was cleared at 6:46 p.m. and the stores were reopened.
