SALEM — Fishing is free this weekend throughout the state of Oregon.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced everyone can fish, clam or crab in public waterways on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. Fishing and shellfish licenses or tags are not required for Oregon residents or visitors. All other fishing regulations must be adhered to, including closures, bag limits and size restrictions.

Also, events planned at several locations throughout the state reel in family fun by introducing kids to fishing. In addition, many lakes, ponds and reservoirs have been stocked with a variety of fish, including walleye, bass and trout at the McNary Ponds.
