A standoff situation has ended this afternoon in Baker City with the arrest of Brent Alexander Breshears, 28, at 1701 Fourth St. Members of the Northeast Oregon Regional SWAT Team had information that Breshears, who had felony warrant for robbery, harassment and theft, was at the fourplex. Residents of the apartment building were evacuated. A loudspeaker and less lethal noise devices were utilized in an attempt to get the subject to vacate the apartment. SWAT Team members made contact Breshears at 2:48 p.m., when he was arrested.

The Northeast Oregon SWAT Team is comprised of law enforcement members from the following agencies: Union County Sheriff’s Office, La Grande Police Department, La Grande Fire Department, Baker City Police Department, Baker City Fire & Rescue and Baker County Sheriff’s Office. Baker County Emergency Management also assisted.

Law enforcement will clear the scene, and streets will reopen as soon as possible.
