DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICANTS: Jack Bryan Ransom, 35, Portland, Monday, 11:20 p.m. on Highway 30 between Haines and North Powder; jailed and later released.

FAILURE TO DRIVE WITHIN LANE: Diego Cortes, 21, of Fontana, California, 7:31 a.m. Dec. 19; the citation was issued after police investigated a crash in which Cortes reportedly lost control of the truck and trailer he was driving eastbound on Interstate 84 near Weatherby. Police said Cortes’ vehicle hit a semi truck while passing on the icy roadway, causing minor damage to the other vehicle. Cortes’ vehicle then left the roadway and traveled through the guardrail. All eastbound traffic was blocked for some time. There were no injuries, police said.
